This house is made of exceptionally high-quality logs, a combination of fir/spruce with a diameter of 29-50 cm, all handmade.

It is built on double foundations, and the wood is protected with 5 layers of lacquer from the German manufacturer Renner.

Also, the logs that form the terrace railing are raised above the base, which gives the wood extra protection from rain and snow.

The exterior terrace, which surrounds the entire house, has 44 m² and is paved with ceramic tiles that extend through the entire ground floor of the house, where underfloor heating is installed.

Upstairs, the floors are oak parquet, and the heating is by radiators, all connected to a heat pump.

The settlement of FUŽINE is located at an altitude of 730 meters above sea level. The climate is a continental variant of the Mediterranean climate, with especially beautiful spring, summer and autumn, and snowy, often long winters. The average annual air temperature is 7.6 degrees Celsius. In summer, temperatures rarely exceed 30°, and warm nights are almost nonexistent. Therefore, the climate is extremely pleasant in summer, as are the stable winter days with abundant snow. Fužine is known for its clean mountain air, which is tirelessly cared for by the bora, the prevailing wind during anticyclones. From the surrounding peaks (Bitoraj 1385 meters, Viševica 1428 m, Tuhobić 1106 m, Preradović 885 m) there are beautiful views of the picturesque wooded areas of Gorski kotar and the nearby surroundings: the lakes, the settlements of Vrata, Lič and Fužine, the karst Ličko polje, as well as the sea, the coast and the Kvarner islands.

Fužine has excellent transport connections. The area borders the Kvarner Bay, so the sea coast - Rijeka and the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera - is only 30 km away, and the island of Krk is only 22 km away. Fužine is located in the immediate vicinity of the Zagreb-Rijeka motorway and is very easy to reach, and it is also possible to visit it by a somewhat romantic train ride. Because of this, it is possible to spend pleasant nights in Fužine on hot summer days while staying by the sea at the same time.

Fužine is characterized by its abundance of water. Today there are three reservoirs there: Bajer, Lepenica and Potkoš, which fit perfectly into the Gorski kotar landscape. They are rich in fish and a real magnet for anglers. The clear waters abound in trout, chub, huchen, carp, pike, grass carp... Sailing regattas and diving competitions are held on the lakes, and surfing, boating and canoeing are possible. The deep forests of Gorski kotar are made for hunters because they are rich mainly in big game, but also in other game.

A particularly significant tourist attraction is the Vrelo Cave. The cave was discovered in the 1950s during the construction of Lake Bajer. It is well lit and arranged for visits with an expert guide. It is 300 meters long in total and is specific because it is the only tourist-arranged cave in Croatia through which underground water flows. It is also configured without stairs, so even people in wheelchairs can visit it. Because of its accessibility and attractiveness, it is visited by all generations, from kindergarten children to older people.

As a popular tourist destination, Fužine offers tourists numerous sports and recreational facilities. In the surroundings you will find nine marked hiking and cycling trails, and there are also marked mountain trails, while the most popular is the promenade around Lake Bajer with a trim trail. The beautiful Gorica Park with three tennis courts offers the possibility of active sports and recreation. In the settlement of Vrata there is the Gmajna sports and recreation center. All activities that ensure an uninterrupted life for the local population and a pleasant stay for guests are developed in the town. There is a health center, pharmacy, bank, post office, railway station, gas station, utility company, municipal administration and tourist office.

The Fužine-Lič area is rich in cultural and religious sites. The oldest is the Church of St. George in Lič from 1662, and the Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Fužine was built over a full 25 years, from 1808 to 1833, and is the largest such building in Gorski kotar. The Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Snow in Ličko polje is especially interesting and attractive. According to tradition, in 1733 the Virgin Mary appeared there in the snow. For centuries, pilgrims have been coming to the sanctuary in search of prayer and healing, and a traditional pilgrimage is held every 5 August. Instead of the large church that was destroyed in the Second World War, the sanctuary today is adorned by a small church built in 2002.

In the oldest settlement, Lič, which was already marked on Venetian maps in the 12th century, there is a very attractive and in many ways unique Ethnographic Collection, where interesting ethnographic objects and archival material have been gathered that tell the story of the history of this area.

Early beginnings of education are very important for the development of the Fužine-Lič area. Fužine got its school already in 1785. It is one of the oldest schools in this part of Croatia and has influenced the high level of literacy and culture of the population throughout history. In the settlements of the municipality of Fužine, the Štokavian, Chakavian and Kajkavian dialects are spoken, which has been preserved to this day, so the speech of all three dialects: ča-kaj-što is an interesting characteristic of this area.

Cultural associations have a long tradition, and one of the most prominent places in history and today is occupied by the Fužine brass band, founded in 1848. The orchestra is the hallmark of Fužine, performs successfully at home and abroad, and has more than 50 active members.
