Many call the island of Ugljan the "green island" because of its old olive groves and idyllic coves with picturesque fishing harbours. It is excellently connected to Zadar by numerous ferry and catamaran lines throughout the year. The largest settlement on the island by area, Ugljan, is located in its northwestern part.
It offers visitors numerous hidden coves, unforgettable natural beauty, and many beautiful sandy and rocky beaches.
The island of Ugljan is separated from the mainland by the Zadar Channel, while it is connected to the island of Pašman by a bridge over the Mali Ždrelac strait.
